Sweet Briar Rose
69" x 94" Quilt & standard size pillowcase
This beautiful quilt is
easier to make than you'd imagine. Once the flowers are appliquéd,
there are just a lot of long seams to be sewn. The trick is finding
the perfect border fabric. And the matching pillowcase completes the
package. |

Fluttering Butterflies
49.5" x 59"
This one is bigger than most so it won't be
quickly outgrown. A nice size for toddlers & children. The
blue & beige quilt peeking out on the right side was designed for a boy
and can be seen on the back cover. I backed them with flannel for
extra coziness. |
Lavender Wreaths
39" square
This quilt reminds me of my mother, which is why
I included her photograph above. She had black hair and fair skin and
looked beautiful in purple. And although she almost never touched
sweets, ever so often we'd find her with an empty box of See's chocolates
and a guilty look on her face. Now that is something she definitely
passed on to her children! There isn't a one of us who can't finish of
a box of chocolates by ourselves. |
Posy Patch
54" x 60"
This quilt has a wonderful vintage look straight from another era.
What a great excuse to buy all those charming 30's fabrics filling the quilt
stores! I made mine throw size, but you can easily adjust the pattern
to make your larger for a bed, or smaller for a wall or table topper.
The appliqué shapes are large and simple, and the sashing is a piece of cake
(or apple pie?) using the old snowball method and 2 inch sashing. |
Red Stars
56" x 72"
I
love the freshness of red, white & blue. I can't resist including
at least one quilt using this color scheme in ever book I do. You can see my very first quilt, a blue
& white
Irish Chain, peeking out in this photograph. It's no masterpiece, but
holds a special place in my heart. In fact, I've hung it prominently
in my newly decorated living room, where that wonderful, timeless color
scheme still works today, 17 years later. |
