As the mother of four children, I know how hard it is to find time to quilt. I love designing quilts that are quick and easy -- but I don't want them to LOOK quick and easy!

I learned to sew when I was five years old, and by the time I was in high school, I was sewing most of my own clothes and won my high school's home economics award. In college, I discovered a quilting show on TV and was immediately hooked. I remember one Saturday afternoon in particular, sitting at a football game next to a nice young man, silently lamenting the fact that I was missing my quilting show. (How pathetic is that?)

But my passion for quilting came in handy a few years later when, as a young mother in search of  home business, I started peddling my original patterns to local quilt shops. Next came a trade show, where I sold my patterns to quilt shops and distributors around the world. Seventeen years later, I've designed hundreds of quilts, authored 24 books, and published about 50 patterns. My quilts have been featured in magazines, calendars, catalogs, and even coasters.

When I'm not quilting, I love to read, shop for just about anything, run and powerwalk, decorate my house, and volunteer at church. I live with my husband and four children near Mission Viejo, California.

Happy quilting!
